Biodiesel Legislation
NSP CEO Robert Byrnes introduced the first biodiesel related legislation in Nebraska two years ago and produced the first commercial biodiesel in the State of Nebraska. He is also involved in a number of legislative initiatives this session that may result in some of the most progressive biodiesel legislation in the nation. Currently there are no state incentives to promote value adding oilseed processing. However, with crush margins at all time highs and vegetable oil hitting record prices, none are needed. This industry is primed for rapid growth which we are already seeing.
